Sewerage levy

You must pay a sewerage levy if your home or business premises are connected directly or indirectly to the municipal sewer system. The Municipality uses this revenue to maintain and update the sewer system. The amount of sewerage levy you pay depends on how much water you use. You pay the sewerage disposal levy as part of your municipal taxes.

Payment of sewerage levy

We base the tax year 2018 on the period from 1 February 2016 to 1 February 2017. The amount of water used by a one-person home is generally less than 350 m3 per year.

Moving house

  • If you continue to live in Veldhoven: the sewerage levy will remain the same, unless you go and live with someone who is already paying the sewerage levy. If this is the case, there will be a reduction in your tax for the remaining months.
  • If you move to a different municipality: the money you have paid for the months that you will no longer be living in Veldhoven will be refunded to you automatically.

Divorce/end of relationship

The municipal tax demand is always issued in the name of one person. This is then the person who is liable to pay the municipal taxes. If your relationship ends and the person liable to pay moves to a different address, he/she will take this liability to pay with them to their new address. The partner who is left behind then becomes liable to pay the municipal taxes for the old address. He/she will receive a demand to pay the municipal taxes for the remaining months of that year, which will be issued in his/her name.
